Its been a little while since we've posted on ABC... but we're back!!!
Came across this a few nights ago and thought this was perfect. Practicing gratitude everyday brings so much more positive emotions, better sleep, feelings of being alive and the ability to express more compassion and kindness. Gratitude doesn't need to be reserved for special times of the year it can be spread around all year long!
UC Davis Psychologist Robert Emmons, author of Thanks! How the New Science of Gratitude Can Make You Happier, explains that by keeping a gratitude journal - writing brief reflections on moments that were thankful for can significantly increase our life!
For the next 7 days try showing gratitude for not only the everyday occurrences but try and notice new things - it can be something as simple that the light turned green at the spotlight or that you dropped something and a complete stranger picked it up for you... all those little actions are so special and unique to our lives... celebrate them and be grateful for all of it!
Now if you do't like to journal you can always have a gratitude jar - anytime you experience a moment of gratitude, write it down and put it in the jar - open it on New Years or Christmas and enjoy review all the things you were grateful for...
And if all of that is too much for you to do - try writing a gratitude letter to someone who may have impacted you and never had a chance to say thanks... There are so many ways to practice Mind Blowing Gratitude - don't waste another minute!
